Inspiration

The inspiration for this app comes from the Pandemic. People want to see the live update of COVID Cases in their country and this will help them see the cases. It is a Cross-Platform App available on Web, Android and iOS.

What it does

It gives the live update of COVID Cases around the world as well as in a country

How I built it

I built it using React, firebase(for hosting), material-ui and Native.io

Challenges I ran into

The iOS file is the biggest challenge to use. It requires you to have a device with MacOS. I have a windows laptop, so it wasn't possible to run iPhone app on a windows PC. But I somehow managed to run it, using a Virtual Machine. I installed a Virtual Machine on my windows and installed MacOS Big Sur. Installing any OS is easy but installing MacOS is tough. But I managed to do it and I'm super happy about this. Although it took me nearly 11 hrs to do so, but I will be able to use it in the future, paving a path for me to run iOS devices on my windows. There were some online Virtual emulators for iOS,but they weren't accepting my file(as it was 256mb)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of running MacOS on windows, it is not directly related to my project, but still its a matter of pride for me. I'm also proud of building the web and app version of a same project in such a small span of time

What I learned

I learned iOS developement, I infact ran Mac/iOS for the first time :)

What's next for COVID Tracker

I want to change some layout and make it more appealing to the audience. In addition to this, I'm planning to publish the apps on their respective appstores.
