Inspiration

The severity of COVID cases in the US

What it does

Utilizes datasets provided by the New York Times and the Atlantic to create and display a heat-map of COVID cases in the US

How we built it

We created this project using React, Node.js, and Express.js

Challenges we ran into

Our team ran into challenges fetching data from our datasets due to the fact that we had limited web development experience. A lot of our time was consumed by learning the basics of React and Node.js.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a fully functional web application ready for deployment was a first for both of us and we learned a lot through this experience.

What's next for Covid Tracker

Include info on counties throughout the US Add more datasets for the drop down menu (mask-usage, etc.) Retrieve current location to provide info on nearby testing/healthcare facilities Expand to a global map
