COVID's Fantasy

Through my work, I wanted to express the world after COVID, perhaps not the same as pre-COVID but the way that we can all come back. It starts off with the view of a television screen glitching... the first way in which I found out about COVID- through the news and media. The virus then comes out creating a sort of cage, trapping us all in, while outside bright dots appear. In this pandemic, many people have faced several looses, from families to homes, we are all somewhat struggling more due to COVID-19. On the other hand, the bright dots can be seen as our goal, what we want to achieve after overcoming the global epidemic- a place of hope and joy... the beginning of our fantasy. After, the screen goes black, panning out to show the whole world, in different colours, us accepting everyone, and then finally dots spiralling- representing us... humans. We can come back after COVID, and we can all be equal, hence the same colour and size. This may seem optimistic, and that is why I call this piece COVID's Fantasy, as although it doesn't see, realistic... it can be reality.

Learning turtle in python was extremely fascinating, yet the most difficult part was trying to get the pieces to work one after another, and I finally decided on using a while loop. Figuring out the perfect numbers was another thing, and a lot of trial and error was involved. However, in the end it created a story that would hopefully inspire many others who are struggling to look ahead and hope for a better future, as more often than not... there always will be one.
