Inspiration

Recently India is going with a lot of trouble with corona virus. So we took inspiration from there making a site to help people fight against covid and get as many resources as they can.

What it does

This site makes some important contact resources like for hospital beds, plasma, oxygen etc available to people easily so that they can get their aid as soon as they can.

How we built it

We firstly decided to make it using HTML,CSS and JS but then shifted our idea to use React js instead which could make our work easier. We used git to share our code We collaborated on figma to design our site

Challenges we ran into

  • As 3/4 members of our team are beginners and none of us had a lot of experience with React, taking up this project was pretty challenging.
  • We ran into several issues while coding and pushing code to repositories, which we solved with each others' as well as mentors', help.
  • One of the biggest challenges was collaborating on one project along with four people. However, we were able to divide up tasks. We hung out on Google Meet to talk about any problems we ran into and shared our thoughts and random ideas as well.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have made a very helpful thing using our unique idea to help india fight against covid and this idea is apt to the theme of this hackathon - " spring into action" which is that our site along with customer satisfaction is speeedy and can save some persons life.

What we learned

As none of the team members had prior knowledge of React, we learnt quite a lot about these technologies by jumping right into building something llike HelpUs.

We also learned time-management and collaboration since we're from different timezones and the hackathon was virtual.

What's next for Helpus

We will host this site and make it available for publlic use in India after doing few more changes.
