Inspiration
Everyone in the world has been affected by COVID-19 in one way or another. After more than a year with severe lockdowns and restrictions, things are starting to ease up in some places. We wanted to create something that allowed users to access various resources, including places to get vaccinated, information regarding the COVID vaccines, as well as mental health resources.
What it does
Our site is a beacon of light, or the light at the end of the tunnel, after a long 1.5 years in a strict lockdown. As mentioned before, the website was created to allow users access to various resources, including places to get vaccinated, information regarding the COVID vaccines, as well as mental health resources.
How I built it
Our website was put together using HTML and CSS, two web development languages.
Challenges I ran into
At first, we did not have a clear solid idea of what kind of project to make, we only knew that we wanted to stay on the web development track. In the end, we all came together and provided our ideas and suggestions to create this wonderful site.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
For this 2 day hackathon we were actually able to collaborate in a fun way and work together to create a finished, amazing-looking project! We used repl so we were all able to work on the same files at the same time, making it easier to help others out on small issues here and there and to collaborate on the creation of overall pages.
What I learned
We learned that coding and creating web pages is a useful and fun tool that has unique potential. We were able to learn CSS and HTML, which will be helpful for our future endeavors.
What's next for COVID-Relief-Website
We will work together to slowly add more functionality to our site as we learn more and more about web technologies on our paths to becoming successful developers.
