COVID-19 Vaccine Queue

Inspiration

• A real-life issue for everyone. COVID. How do we distribute the vaccines in the upcoming rollout phases?

What it does

• Simply put: users enter data, and out spits a priority number. This number is specific to a firm/vaccine location.

How we built it

• HTML/CSS/JavaScript for the website's functionality
• Firebase for the database

Challenges

• Firebase issues. We wanted to use Firebase to store our data. This being our first time doing so (and first hackathon) led us to many issues that were out of our scope! Thankfully, we were able to resolve many of these issues by careful review and Google!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Working as a team!
• Struggling and finding success in using new things to us!

What I learned

• Hackathons are fun! But, planning is essential! We had the ideas, but planned poorly. For our next event, we'll remember the need of sitting down and writing down our thoughts

What's next for Covid queue

• Scaling our application (users selecting a location first since priority numbers are specific to a vaccine rollout location)
