Inspiration
As I listen to the news and hear stories of the COVID-19 Coronavirus and its impact on our world, I needed to find a way that I can use my skills to do what I can to help make an impact and hopefully save lives.
I'm not a scientist that can concoct the vaccine, nor am I a doctor or nurse that can help heal the affected. My skill set consists of a technology background, and proficient in creating apps.
What it does
Tracks 14 days of location history for users. Allows medical/healthcare to anonymously record positive results by scanning QR Codes
How I built it
Cross-platofrm ios/google app using Cordova/JQuery
Challenges I ran into
App Store Approval Medical/Healthcare data entry
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Able to get a rapid working prototype in an accelerated timeline working around the clock
What I learned
Anyone can make a difference. They just have to try.
What's next for COVID Notify
The app, COVID Notify, will be rolled out in phases and we are complete with the first iteration. We currently need to partner with entities to get the full version released on the App Stores. As adoption starts ramping up, we will need funds to help keep the initiative going and ensure we have the right infrastructure to support our cause.
Because of the nature of this problem, I have decided to make it free for users, and free for Medical Staff, to utilize this app so that it can truly make a difference and save lives.
