A site where students can find out information about Covid statistics near the York university area, as well as, giving tips on how to stay safe and showing which areas of York are busy.

Inspiration

Covid-19 has been harm for us all. We have the time now to plan and protect ourselves from the virus when universities reopen.

What it does

This website provides you with real time information on how busy places at school is, how much confirmed cases of Covid-19 are in the area and safety tips on how to stay safe at school.

How we built it

We started with the MLH Node.js Starter project and built our way up from there. Everything was a new experience as this was our first hackathon and our first time building a website like this.

Challenges we ran into

At the beginning it was hard to come up with a great idea, so we brainstormed for quite a while. We had several different ideas but when we thought of the covid-19 information idea we started to get to work right away. Coding the interactive map was also difficult as we had limited experience working with html.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It was our first hackathon, so it was a great experience creating ideas shaping them into reality.

What we learned

We’ve enhances our skills in html and node.js.

What's next for Covid Intelligence

Hopefully this project could be implemented to universities/colleges worldwide to help protect students and their loved ones from Covid-19.
