Inspiration

Many people across the Global don't have an understanding about why exactly this pandemic occurred or what is coronavirus basically is .So I desired to create an app to help the society understand and realise this situation. Since many people in are not abiding to the rules of social distancing and wearing mask, I decided to create a digital solution that can solve this problem in a highly efficient way.

What it does

This app provides the user with basic info about coronavirus and its effects. Statistics are provided to give the user a basic idea about the number of recovered, active and total covid cases. Videos are the best way through which the basic idea of this app can be communicated to a large number of audience in a much efficient manner and hence their is a watch feature which does the same. Social Distancing is considered as one of the important aspect to be followed during this covid pandemic and hence I have also built a model which detects the distance between the individuals and immediately shows an alert if it is not followed. During this time we as individuals have learnt to always wear mask for protection. Hence i have created a *Mask Detection * model which addresses this issue.

How I built it

I used Flutter language to build the app along with certain plugins that flutter provides .I have also used jupyter notebook for training and running the models.

Challenges I ran into

I was getting a RenderBox flow error while running the app because of which only white screen was getting displayed. This was corrected by providing a definite height and width to the container. Also the model was taking a long time to run which was corrected by using a Convolutional layers instead of a normal sequential layer

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud to create such a project which provides the people with information about the pandemic and also inspire people never to loose faith and hope. The digital and efficient solution that I have provided will be a useful tool for protection again covid.

What I learned

I learned that one must never give up in trying to achieve their goals . Someone rightly said motivation is the key to success .Whatever challenges I face during the making of this project all of them were resolved only because of my desire to create a difference in the society and mankind

What's next for Covid Informative App

If I get a large user base then I plan to add a chat feature where the patients can chat with the doctors or the recovered patients. In addition to it, I would add a chatbot feature
