COVID HOPE app for Clinical trials for patients & physicians

Inspiration

Our goal is to develop an app to provide an easy solution to connect clinicians, patients, participants and public health officials to conduct COVID clinical trials locally or on a large scale. Currently there are many efforts ongoing, but it is very hard for patients to understand the scale and breadth of these efforts. We want to give hope to people, hence COVID hope.

What it does

Our project has 4 core objectives: 1. Ease collaboration among physicians that are running clinical trials, patients, volunteers, health care providers. 2. Enable physicals to engage remotely with the patients, this is consistent with the FDA guidelines where physicians are encouraged to examine alternatives to face-to-face trial procedures. 3. Ease collaboration between physicians and patients to decrease patients drop rate 4. Simplify process for patients to log their systems and share them with the physicians. This ePRO (electronic Patient reported Outcomes) are crucial information for the researchers in clinical trial settings.

How I built it

We are currently working through the prototype and MVP of this product. We are looking to add technical expertise in the team. Please refer to below for the expertise we are currently looking for.

Challenges I ran into

We are looking for technical assistance from IOS Developer, Android developer, Web Developer so that we can release the product into the hands of physicians. We are also seeking assistance from physicians who may be running clinical trials, and anybody who would like to contribute in our project.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that we took the initiative to contribute in this effort to make a dent in the global pandemic that has more or less brought the world to its knees.

What I learned

What's next for COVID HOPE app for Clinical trials for patients & physicians

We want to realize our vision and build the prototype. We are looking to add below expertise in our team: a) IOS developer b) Android developer c) Web Developer d) Physicians who are currently running or have ran clinical trials in the past.
