Inspiration

The growing number of cases and correspondingly the growing number of deaths in our country had inspired us. We were keen to provide something to the society and for its betterment develop something by applying our knowledge of technology

We built it my attaching jumper wires to the necessary pins of the sensor to the our microcontroller that is the arduino uno r3. Then with the help of esp8266 wifi module we had uploaded the sensor readings to the firebase and then we transferred it into our app which was build with the help of android studio

What it does

This project reduces a lot of human effort and makes the right use of technology. We can measure our vitals through the sensors and then the detected values are directly fed into the app and is recorded in the form of chart and graph . At the end of each day it goes to the respective doctor along with the name, age, gender and some more details of the patient. After this the doctor can observe the changes and then accordingly prescribe medicines, then the list of the medicines are directly sent to a pharmacy nearby the patient's home. The shopkeeper delivers it to the patient's doorstep, and then the patient makes an online payment for those medicines, so that there is least possible human contact . This reduces the effort of contacting a doctor during these tough times and then personally going out to purchase the medicines. It basically reduces a lot of human effort. Another feature of this app is that if doctor thinks the patient needs to be hospitalised, then the patient who is most critical gets admitted first according to his/her current condition and medical history . This feature is useful because if someone stays away from the hospital and is really in a serious condition, then he might take time to reach the hospital and miss chance of getting a bed during this pandemic time. So with the help of this app he can book his bed from his home itself and can treated properly.

How we built it

We built it my attaching jumper wires to the necessary pins of the sensor to the our microcontroller that is the arduino uno r3. Then with the help of esp8266 wifi module we had uploaded the sensor readings to the firebase and then we transferred it into our app which was build with the help of android studio

Challenges we ran into

There were some issues with integrating the sensors and the code with the rest of the project. This was thoroughly researched for and suitable arrangements were made, we also improvised the code accordingly.

There were a few faults in the hardware components that we received, and due to the pandemic situation, these could not be replaced. So we tried to find and fix the issues to best of our abilities.

Also there were a few issues faced due to the current pandemic situation which came to act as a blockage for what we were aiming to achieve, but we didn't give up and gave it our best shot.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

After so much going on everyone's house and then the whole negative environment we managed to get through it and managed to build the project from the scratch. We never gave up and handled all the situation that came in front of us and finally we are proud that we could make something useful which could help everyone suffering in this harsh times.

What we learned

we learned about a few new sensors and how to assemble them and their respective codes. We also learned about android studio

What's next for COVID FIRST AID

The used sensors could be updated and more precise one could be used and along with it we can use a Arduino nano which is smaller in size so it will be easy to handle
