Inspiration

Everyone has experienced the deadly situation of Covid 19 in these past 2 to 3 years. Everywhere, people were facing difficulties either it was regarding finding the beds for treatment or register for vaccination or knowing the statisctics of daily COVID-19 report in their region. All these difficulties inspired to us to build this web application that has all the information regarding the COVID-19 wave as well as this app becomes a mode for needy patients who want to get admitted to the beds or book their vaccination slot. This web application is free of cost and is open to all.

What it does

COVID CARE application is a web application where the user need to register themselves free of cost. And then, This web application contains 3 options i.e. COVID Statistics, Bed Availability and Book Vaccination Slot. In COVID statistics, the user will get all the report of COVID-19 cases ongoing around the entire country as well as around their region. In bed availability, the user need to first select their state and after selecting their state, this app will show all the hospitals where COVID treatment is taking place and their respective beds. The users will be able to register their hospital beds if beds are available all for free. In Vaccination slot, the user will be able to book their vaccination slot according to their specific date and time and their area where vaccination slot is available all for free.

How we built it

We built it using Javascript framework i.e. ReactJS, Material-UI,COVID-API, HTML, CSS. We also used localStorage as a potential database for authentication and taking the user information through forms.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was to gather all the important and official information regarding COVID. We went through multiple API's and finally we found the 2 API's in which all the official information from WHO and Government of India were available. We also used the authentication system first time and that also with our potential databse i.e. localStorage and authenticating with localStorage was a big challenge for us. We also used dynamic routes for different options which was our first experience thorugh react-router-dom.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we experimented with this project and learnt something new like authentication with localStorage and using APIs as much as we can for fetching the data. Here, We can proudly say that you will get a great user interactive experience.

What we learned

We learnt about the localStorage in depth and its diverese applications. The usage of localStorage helped to make this project dynamic. We have also used Material UI and CSS to make the UI look stronger and attractive and eye-catching.

What's next for COVID CARE

We will surely now pass it to the mainstream users and we will hope that the patients and others will get a great benefit through our web app. Since our web app is completely free, the patients from any financial background can use and make their situation convenient.
