Inspiration
Our inspiration for Covid Care was that we wanted to make sure people were staying safe and informed, after seeing our friends not being safe.
What it does
In the past 30 hours we learned how to create a quiz using javascript for our site that instantly grades the user’s responses, include links to appropriate charities, covid-19 articles and included statistics on current social climate topics, information overlay on images, designing our own logo + graphics and organized photo gallery + presented information.
How we built it
We built our website using CSS, JavaScript and HTML
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we faced includes choosing stylistic features (ex. color palette, navigation bar, etc), coding the JavaScript for the quiz, resizing the images and using overlay in the photo gallery (time crunch) creating an automatic slideshow.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We focused on key features such as a navigational bar that is user friendly and allows for easy access to different pages, a hover effect that adds a nice glow to when a link on the navigator bar is clicked, a photo gallery that includes overlay box of information and tips, a collapsible text that has a header and additional information underneath, a quiz feature that is a user-friendly and a Covid-19 facts quiz automatic slideshow.
What we learned
We learned almost all the JavaScript in the time allowed. Also we learned how to assign roles and work consistently and effectively.
What's next for Covid Care
In the future we hope to add a feature that distributes ad revenue to charity, also we want to add AI that will act as a chat box
