Inspiration
Our inspiration to build this project was the fact that the Coronavirus has negatively impacted so many people. We wanted to have an easy way to navigate our website which can be used by anyone.
What it does
Our website has some live statistics borrowed in the form of iframes and a custom-made form that takes in the symptoms you have, and your age to give helpful advice, such as quarantining.
How we built it
We (Amrik, Marko, and Wendy) built it with HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript inside Repl.it so we could code together and help each other out.
Challenges we ran into
The major challenge we ran into was deciding what to make our project about. After that, it was getting over HTML and CSS syntax errors.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Amrik: I am proud of the work that I put in with my teammates as well as the code I finished. I am also proud of the final design. Marko: I am proud of the gradient background and how we structured the website. Wendy: I am proud of how we were able to work together to create this website.
What we learned
This was my first Hackathon, I learned some new things we could do with CSS. (Wendy) This was my first Hackathon as well, I learned some new things about JS and CSS as well. (Marko) This was my first ever Hackathon. I learned new syntax and concepts in JavaScript and HTML. (Amrik)
What's next for Covid Buddy
Looking ahead for Covid Buddy, we wish to add a more interactive user experience to hopefully help educate more people then ultimately keep everyone safe and healthy.
