Covid-19 Voice Assistant System

A Voice Assistant System for gathering information related to the covid-19.

Inspiration

Since there is no treatment available for covid-19 till now so in order to avoid getting affected by this disease, we have to take all necessary precautions.For that everyone should be aware about this disease.They should know everything about it like its symptoms,how it spread,how we can prevent it and people should know the facts about the myths that are circulating everywhere. so, I thought that there should be some application which have interacting user interface where everyone can get all the necessary information about covid-19 easily.Hence, it inspired me build an app which will serve the purpose.

What it does

It have Following features: -It can be used to know about corona virus. -It track live number of corona cases in any country or in any states of India.(By voice command or on Map by moving mouse cursor over the country or states) -It can be used to know the symptoms of covid-19. -It can be used to know how covid-19 spreads and what we can do to prevent it. -It can be used to know the Do's and Don't's about covid-19. -It can be used to check the fact about the myths that are circulating about covid-19. -It will send you notifications about symptoms,prevention and fact about myths in regular time interval so, it will keep you updated while you're working on your machine.

How I built it

I built it using python programming language. I also used various open source libraries that are available in python. I also used images which are available on India Government website for awareness.

Challenges I ran into

There were many small small challenges that I ran into like how to run several things simultaneously which i figured out by using threads. Then there was a problem with terminating child threads . I figured out everything by searching solution on google.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Actually for me the whole application is an accomplishment because this is my first major project and I worked for days to make it happen. It motivates me to do many more such projects where I can challenge myself.

What I learned

I learned many things. First I learned the libraries to work on this project and while working on the project I learned how to implement threading . The most important thing that I learned while working on this project is that if there is any difficulty or anything which is not working then I should try my best to it figure out on my own by searching it on google or reading relevant resources.

What's next for Covid-19 Voice Assistant System

After this I will look how I can improve this application and what I can add into it so it can be used by everyone easily. I will also be looking forward to do many more projects.
