The global pandemic.
What it does
Traveling during these pandemic times has become highly restricted and extremely covid-19 conscious. As you would expect, different countries and travel destinations have varying degrees of covid-19 statistics and, therefore, varying restraints and requirements towards entering the country. We set out to create an application that provides an easy search and data retrieval on locations that a user inputs and provides all required information in one place. It makes it easier for one to view information on the countries they want to travel to without having to do multiple google searches to do so.
How we built it
Using a Vue.js frontend and Lumo API for data.
Challenges we ran into
- Debugging HTTP requests.
- Trying to implement a user interface using UI framework Vuetrify.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Completing a skeleton product.
What we learned
- Learned more about the Vue.js framework.
- Learned how to use an API to provide data that can be retrieved from the frontend.
- Learned about Vue js UI frameworks
What's next for COVID-19 Travel Statistics (Travel-19)
We believe there could still be room for improvement for this application. For example, maybe improving upon the UI a bit more to ensure user ease of use or even adding more features to the app that we believe could further satisfy the purpose of the application.
