Inspiration - The inspiration behind this project was the increasing number of cases of Covid-19 in India and the ignorance of people of India for it.People started to overlook the threat of the virus and the gradually misleading stats were being produced and the media coverage also declined. This program will keep you up to date with the real stats provided by the government.

What it does- It will track the no of covid patients in India and keep notifying you about it.The stats are fetched from the official website of government of India so that you can get the authenticated data.

How we built it- We built it using Python and web scrapping the data from the website using tkinter module to make the GUI and plyer module to generate the notification.

Challenges we ran into-Before starting the project we have to learn many concepts which were new to us and go through many reference ideas and books. The program is the result of many unsuccessful codes for the project and vain dryruns. We also consulted many of our seniors and people experienced in this field and took the help of internet to strengthen our project. We worked on this project for several days and there was a time when we were on the verge of giving up but we continued and finally we were successful in running the code

Accomplishments we are proud of-We are happy and proud of ourselves that we have achieved what we thought off and the way we managed to work on this project. We are glad that we were able to work on a project that can help the society toward its betterment.

What we learned- The project gave us a experience of working with multiple softwares and strengthen our knowledge in the domain of computer science and programming. The key takeaways from this project is our shortcomings and how can we improve the project inorder to increase awareness regarding this pandemic.

What's next for COVID-19 TRACKER-Our next aim is to build a COVID- 19 tracker for every state of India or for every country and to build a mobile app for it and to generate sms and email alerts
