Inspiration
I was inspired to build this project to help people who have been affected by COVID-19 by providing resources to display accurate data.
What it does
The website displays COVID-19 cases and deaths globally and for each country. It also displays corresponding graphs to help visualize the data.
How I built it
I used ...
- JavaScript for frontend and API requests
- HTML and CSS for structuring and designing website
- Firebase to host the website
- COVID-19 API for COVID-19 data
- JavaScript Charting library for creating graphs using data
Challenges I ran into
I ran into problems when trying to integrate data from the COVID-19 API to the JavaScript Charting library. Navigating through the data structure was confusing at first, however, I got it to work!
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I am proud of making a functional website that displays accurate information, all in one day.
What I learned
I learned a lot about the planning and process of creating a project when there are endless possibilities. I also learned how to create graphs using JavaScript.
What's next for COVID-19 Statistics
I want to use the current website and add a feature to display predictions of COVID-19 cases using Artificial Intelligence.
Built With
- covid19api
- css3
- firebase
- html5
- javascript
- javascript-charting
