Saving lives, preventing a global financial crisis
What it does
THE PROBLEM
- Rapid spread of the disease, leading to deaths
- Overload of the global health system
- Economic, Social etc. problems
GOALS The main goal of the project is reducing the infection rate, by emphasizing on
- Prevention (good hygiene habits etc.)
- Early diagnosis
- Avoiding virus transmission
This way, people’s lives can be saved and a global financial crisis can be prevented
SOLUTION
Part A Creation of a global database of people that got ill. Data included: symptoms, demographics, patient history etc. Usage of the database:
- by the app presented in Part B
- Open data *** in case the countries cannot cooperate to aggregate the infected people data, questionnaires could be published online, that people who were infected can fill in (Plan B)
Part B Creation of an app (web & mobile), with the following features Feature 1. Good hygiene behaviors - Infection prevention
- information about good hygiene
- Training on good hygiene, using methods like gamification
- Advice depending on the time of the day eg before lunch advice for washing her hands
- Infection prevention, using various methods like informing the user that the place she is around (or the place she intends to go) is too crowded (so she must avoid it) Feature 2. Estimating the possibility of infection
- Using online test/questionnaire
- Questionnaire results evaluation using the data stored in database (Part A) and taking advantage of techniques, technologies etc like AI, Data mining
- In case the results show that the user has been infected: ---Ability to contact a medical center/doctor via video call or message, for further investigation ---see instructions about the next steps (eg. indicators she should monitor the following days eg. body temperature). ---ask the user for symptoms and behavior on a daily basis and record monitoring results ---Ability to inform friends via social media etc. that she may have been infected
Part C Creation of platform that will manage data collected from the app presented in Part B. Personnel with the proper permit, will be able to see statistics about possible infections etc collected from the app and provide advice to countries or administrative areas related to supplies needs (eg masks), future hospital needs (in case more people get infected)
How I built it
It's not built yet. It's in the phase of ideation/brainstorming.
Challenges I ran into
A big challenge will be creating a global database related to people that got sick. However, above (Part A), an alternative solution (plan b) is proposed. Another big challenge has to do with private data collection.
