Inspiration

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we've decided that we wanted to create a project that would allow us to show how dangerously fast, the disease can spread.

What it does

The website simulates through rounds of infections. The growth of new infections are exponential and rapid increase in the later rounds of the simulation.

How we built it

My teammates and I built our website through HTML, CSS, JavaScript supported by Bootstrap and jQuery.

Challenges we ran into

We faced many challenges such as creating algorithms that supported our math functions and attempting to edit a canvas that was already drawn. We ran into many errors with infecting more dots because they were already drawn, so we had to draw more dots to the screen and Chii spent a long time implementing the math into the script.

What we learned

First, we learned that, without the help of doctors and government policies, epidemics can spread like wildfire and everyone could be infected within months. Chii and I improved more programming wise and learned how to create fast solutions when time is running out.
