COVID-19 Questions and Answers Platform

Inspiration

Most citizen have no information at all about about COVID-19. They may seem ignorant but they need a platform where they can learn more about the infection and how to stay safe

What it does

It provide a platform for anyone to ask any question concerning COVID-19 and how to stay safe. Any question is queued into the right category and automatically assigned to the specialist with the necessary knowledge to respond.

How I built it

The system is built in open source technology using PHP, MySQL, API technology and NodeJS for faster loading and lower network latency

Challenges I ran into

Currently the system is working both in computers and mobile platforms. The challenge is that it require an internet enabled phone to access the knowledge base. Most citizen in the rural setup have no internet access. It require optimization to enable them send requests through a normal SMS and preferably to a toll free number that will route the request to the back end database for updating.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The system is able to capture the questions and allow the specialists to respond which helps to flatten the curve on COVID-19

What I learned

Working with the public and citizen is not easy. Capturing their expectation is very important for them to accept the solution that is being created and enable the same for scalability
