Inspiration

We noticed, especially from watching the news, that not everyone was able to get a COVID-19 test so we wanted to make a simple application that could allow someone to learn if they had COVID-19 or not just from the symptoms they had, so they could better protect themselves and the people around them with this knowledge.

What it does

This website is a quick form that you fill out that will help you determine on your own and without a Covid-19 test whether or not you have Covid. It will give you a percentage back based on the symptoms you checked off and the formula that we came up with based on our research.

How I built it

The main page is built with html, css and a little bit of javascript to build the form. The next form we built used the same coding languages and embedded a google sheet onto the page as well which was also linked to a google sheets page. We also used the IBM

Challenges I ran into

We used IBM Watson Studio to create a machine learning model and had a hard time implementing the code we got from IBM onto our website.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We were able to implement python onto a webpage.

What I learned

Our team was brand new to machine learning, so through IBM we were able to learn the fundamentals of what machine learning is and we were able to build our own model without knowing very much about it. We also learned how to implement python onto a webpage to try to implement the machine learning code onto our website.

What's next for Covid-19 Online Test

As of now our website isn’t the most accurate due to the fact that we couldn’t find an excessive amount of information online. In the future to fix this we added a second webpage to our site that gives users a chance to help us out if they already had symptoms and were tested. If this applies to them they would fill out the google form and their information will be immediately brought into a google sheet where we can keep track of their data and use it to create a more accurate determination.
