What inspired us to make this was the events that were happening around us, so we figured a website on COVID protocols, and updates would be really helpful. Another big inspiration we had was the first workshop on HTML and Replit, which was really helpful in supporting our data.

What it does

This website includes helpful sources for COVID vaccines, important news updates, and it includes data on each state in the US including: deaths, number of cases, active cases, recovered cases, and the total population. We also have a section on information on COVID that includes the protocols and how to stay safe.

How we built it

We used the website replit to build the website, specifically HTML. For the updated status’ per state, we used the Novel COVID19 API.

Challenges we ran into

There were a couple challenges we ran into: yesterday night, the schedule we had planned had failed since our partner accidentally passed out, and we also had places to be yesterday, so we couldn’t code all that much. Things were a little difficult to manage since we still had a lot to do in the morning. However, we worked hard and the challenges don’t seem like a big deal.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of the big table of the COVID-19 status that took ages to make. It includes all the status and it has a lot of information on each one. Overall, I think we’re proud of making the website itself, since two of us don’t have that much experience in coding, so it turned out really well.

What we learned

We learnt a lot about coding in general. Since two of us were basically beginners knowing nothing about html except for the workshop, this was really helpful for us to understand the concept and etc. We also learnt how to connect the API to the code which was also really cool.

What's next for COVID-19 Information Hub

To be complete honest, we’re not too sure what’s next for us, but it would definitely be cool if we continued elaborating more into this website such as the vaccine information so that it would help more and more people find all the information needed in just this one website.
