Inspiration

The COVID-19 breakout has major consequences for over the worldwide. People's want to rightly concerned and have many urgent questions. The World Health Organization(WHO) provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding the COVID-19 on their official website. Our chatbot could perfectly helpful with this!

We are going to create a chatbot for questions regarding the COVID-19. This chatbot will be based on artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP). Firstly, we will learn more about the AI and NLP used for this chatbot. After that, the implementation of the chatbot will be demonstrated based on the discussed techniques.

What it does

Our chatbot is helpful for companies in the technology sector who want to help stop the COVID-19 and learn a little bit about AI and NLP in the process. In recent years, there has been a lot of innovation in the field of AI and NLP. So first it is good to take a deep dive and learn a bit more about how to make a COVID-19 chatbot.

How I built it

The project was developed on the basis of Google DialogFlow. This platform enables the creation of a voice-controlled assistant which can be trained to understand certain questions using specific training texts.

In the first expansion stage, the FAQs on COVID-19 were integrated into DialogFlow, whereby a corresponding entry was trained for many of the FAQs provided by the Indian Ministry of Health .

Challenges I ran into

1] The effort that is required to cover all user questions requires a lot of time and manpower. 2] Data protection challenges arise, especially in quarantine support. 3] Solving the technical challenges to maintain the simplest possible usability.

What I learned

Use of Slack, Devpost,telegram ... for organization. Use of Google Dialogflow to create a chatbot. How positive the intrinsic motivation of the team members has on the overall productivity of the team. At what speed strangers can be introduced to a new tool in such a way that they actively and effectively collaborate.

What's next for COVID-19 Help Desk

1] Extension of the assistant for suspicion clarification, so that all possible entries of the users can be dealt with. 2] Extension and finally implementation of the flowchart for quarantine care, in which the patients can report their state of health to the responsible health department to relieve the burden of telephone support. 3] Validation of all data for correctness from a medical point of view; Ensuring compliance with data protection law. For productive use: Continuous updating and expansion of the FAQ based on information from Google Analytics in the dialog flow.
