Inspiration
There are massive amounts of information and web content promoted on news websites, social media and other sources after the outbreak started. With this amount of information lots of fake news and miss presentation of instructions are delivered by non health experts to society in daily basis, which may increase anxiety, underestimation or even miss trust of any further health promotion. Therefore, we found that health professional could help guiding toward the proper sources to follow through this short time of stressful outbreak.
What it does
Trying to provide most trusted useful instructions related to prevention from COVID-19 infection and research webpages in one place!
How I built it
By crowd-sourcing platform with health information, currently we are participants from 16 countries, 5 continents. We collaborated in crowd-sourcing of this platform to help with launching it in its early stage, our aim was to help people reaching good quality health information. Our background is in different fields of health with majority of us with Master's public/global health related studies.
Challenges I ran into
- Developing (Android/iOS) apps for the platform.
- The need to collaborate with larger organization to have more trust and validity.
- Developing chatbot for the health map, to have better support for the users.
- Data entry taking time.
- Time to work on it, as it seems to need more administrators and data entry workers.
- Coordinating the team on Facebook group.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Having health professional volunteers from 16 countries.

What I learned
- That people are ready to participate if there is a clear goal.
- To set up a platform for social impact.
What's next for COVID-19 Health promotion platform
- Keep feeding the database with trusted sources.
- Improve the structure to be more useful.
- Developing Android and iOS apps.
- Developing chatbot to support people to reach trusted health information sources.
- Finding partners.
