We've seen many non-profit organizations lack critical supplies needed to help their communities during these difficult times.
What it does
We created a portal that allows non-profits to list what supplies they need to anyone viewing our website.
How we built it
We used HTML/CSS for the frontend and Django for the Backend. The information is stored in a SQL database.
Challenges we ran into
We had some difficulties figuring out how to connect the frontend to the Python backend and display data from the database to the frontend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We worked as a great Team Inspite working on virtual platform and having timing issues.
What we learned
We got a chance to learn Django in depth.
What's next for Covid-19 Donation Portal.
We plan to continue building this platform and ensure that we have a fully functional backend. We also plan to use allow users to type in what supplies they currently have and automatically connect them with the right nonprofits.
