Inspiration

What inspired us that during the pandemic (COVID-19), lack of medical facilities in hospital such as beds, medicines, and other necessities were scarce.

What it does

Our projects provide a platform for patients and medical staff of hospitals to share their details regarding the availability of beds within their respective hospitals globally. This way, both the patient and the medical staff are at easy.

How we built it

We build a web application using bootstrap, HTML and CSS with backend linked with Flask (a framework of python) and database was designed in MySQL.

Challenges we ran into

Amongst many challenges was to look on how we are gonna integrate the application globally as well as finding sample datasets to provide for the user on our app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Within the short period of time, our amazing international team from Indo-Pak (subcontinent) region developed the amazing web application as well as documented the complete GitHub repository.

What we learned

we learned to tackle the time zones issues by working simultaneously on the project when the other team members are not available. Moreover, we learned on how to brainstorm different ideas and then develop a mutual consensus around it, by completing it into MVP for the hackathon.

What's next for COVID-19 bed slot Booking Application

As far the future of Covid-Center is concerned, then we will develop and integrate ML & DL models into the platform with which the staff doesn't have to manually update the availability of beds within their hospitals.
