Inspiration

We knew that covid was an active event that hurt millions of people. We wanted to do a project on that and brainstormed. We got to the idea that we can use HTML and CSS to make a website and since we also python, we made a game with it and embedded it into our website

What it does

The HTML website presents information about coronavirus, its symptoms, and the necessary steps to prevent the spread of covid. It also includes a cool game that is related to it.

How we built it

We built the main website using HTML5 and formatted it using CSS. The game was developed using Pygame.

Challenges we ran into

During this hackathon, we had time zones problems. As some of us were in eastern time while others were at pacific time and even GMT+1. This hindered our work as a team since the times where everybody was present were very limited. Also, due to our limited coding experience, we had to stick to something everybody could handle and tried to produce the best we could.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of how far we have improved our coding skills. Also, we progressed on our teamwork and collaboration skills and learned how to divide tasks and get them ready within a deadline

What we learned

We learned how to implement an image slider in HTML and how to create a Pygame that is related to covid. We also got more knowledge on how to use these languages.

What's next for Covid-19 Awareness Project

This is just the initial stage of but we can see a lot of potential for this project. One of the features we could implement is a more user-friendly interface. We could also make it so that the user can play the game on the website itself to gain the full experience rather than to go to a different website.
