Inspiration

My inspiration for this project was COVID-19 since that was the first and most pressing thing that came to my mind. I felt like I could create something that people could use to get quick access to websites/sources for information instead of having to search up and jump from website to website on their own.

What it does

I built a very basic web application that provides access to various sources in one location. A user can easily access the information through my app.

How I built it

I programmed using javascript and html in VSCode. Deployed using Azure.

Challenges I ran into

I have never worked with html, javascript, or anything to do with azure or web app development. This was something completely new for me.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that I took this hackathon as an opportunity to learn something completely new. I didn't come in with any intention of winning which isn't something I usually do. Instead, I thought this hackathon was a great opportunity for me to learn new skills and learn about the hackathon format in general and I'm proud that I did exactly that and was able to learn a lot.

What I learned

I learned how to program a web application using html, css, and javascript. What's more is that I also learned how to take all that code and deploy it to the cloud using Microsoft Azure. Throughout the hackathon, I also attended other workshops and learned a lot about other interesting topics as well.

What's next for COVID-19 At A Glance Resource

My next steps with this project are to keep expanding with new tricks I learn as I go along. In addition to sprucing up the visual elements of the app, I will add a new dimension with multiple pages and some more complicated stuff.
