Inspiration
With all the problems that COVID - 19 has caused many people were facing issues like shortage of supplies or medicines. Many posts were made all across different social medias for but all the resources kept getting scattered around the internet. So we decided to make this project where you can post about COVID related resources and services and people can search for them and interact with other people all in one place.
What it does
So our website is place where people can post about COVID related or any useful resources or services which other people can find helpful. They can interact through the comment section and search for any specific resources or needs. You can also look up for Vaccination centers in you area and get the available vaccine and slots for vaccination.
How we built it
We build the basic frame of our project using Django and Javascript. We used Firebase for its Realtime Database and Firebase storage for storing images. We also used the Co-WIN Public APIs for collecting data about the vaccination centers and deployed it on Heroku.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of this project as it can be very useful to people in need of supplies, resources, medicines or any kind of service.
What we learned
We learned about different technologies and many different uses of known technologies.
What's next for CoviAssist
It can potentially be made into a PWA. The option to directly get your Vaccination Certificated or check your Vaccination Status may also be added.
