Inspiration

Helping people at risk to track high value areas that have cases of COVID-19 for them to avoid it.

What it does

This app works by taking user given data. Users input if they have tested positive or negative for COVID-19, if users have test positive for the virus then the app tracks the locations visited and dates of the positive users within 2-5 weeks of having the virus.

How we built it

We used flutter & dart to create this app.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into include starting the project seeing as it was my first time using flutter, deciding on what links and other information to show the users, and lastly how to display users who have tested positive for Covid-19 without putting them at risk for discrimination & hate.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating an product that both teammates are proud of making, and being able to be invited to this hackathon.

What we learned

Throughout this process we learned to communicate better as a team, to opinionate our ideas cohesively to one another, to work under severe pressure and time crunch.

What's next for COVID -19 Local Tracker

Right, now we are still figuring out some bugs and trying to finalize things but I think that the next thing would definitely try and create our own application with more user friendly materials and bring something like this app to market just to protect people who are at risk of getting the virus and also for people who want to be conscious about places that they visit, especially if many people with the virus have visited said area.

(Home and Charts pages were built using a tutorial, User tracking pages along with More info pages were built form scratch. using the building block learned from the tutorial.)
