Cover Letter Cooker

Inspiration

We were inspired to create a cover letter generator because we have members who are currently applying for co-ops and are required to write many many cover letters.

What it does

Allow users to submit their resumes, job descriptions, and additional information to create a cover letter catered to their personal experiences written by PerplexityAI.

How we built it

Magic.

Challenges we ran into

Core issues for the project include time constraints, formatting, and using an unfamiliar coding language and framework.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to create a minimum viable product while enjoying each other's company and completing side quests like winning the scavenger hunt and typing competition!

What we learned

We learned how to implement APIs while working with the Flask framework. Furthermore, we learned that it is important to adapt to the time constraints by removing unnecessary features.

What's next for Cover Letter Cooker

In the future, we hope to improve Cover Letter Cooker by allowing users to further customize the generated cover letters with more specific experiences that tie together with qualities from other experiences.
