An on demand learning management system that is generated based upon a file upload.

Inspiration

We were inspired by the need for a more active learning approach than just reading through a textbook in preparation for exams. Our solution not only meets that need but does so in a highly personalized manner, giving us confidence that users are left satisfied without having to spend valuable time scouring the internet for exactly what they need.

What it does

An on-demand learning management system that can be used by students and teachers that generates a whole course in quizzes, flashcards (very possibly lectures, assignments, exams and any course-related material in the future as well) upon submission of a PDF such as an academic book.

How we built it

The backend was built using ASP.net and the frontend using React.

Challenges we ran into

We were under a time crunch throughout, so our time management skills were put to the test. We ran into issues pulling and merging at times as well, so that took patience and time to resolve.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're overjoyed that the LMS is able to take an unprecedented amount of context in the form of a PDF and convert it to useful materials for the average student.

What we learned

Our teamwork was strengthened throughout the process, and each of us had a chance to level up in experience in their respective area of contribution. The hackathon served as a great networking opportunity as well!

What's next for Courseify

Definitely more study materials! We plan to make it a lot more comprehensive than it is, allowing it to be an actual competitor to the established LMSs.
