Inspiration Our team was inspired by the growing trend of online education and the increasing number of options available to learners. However, we noticed that the process of finding and comparing courses can be overwhelming and time-consuming due to the limited information and an overwhelming number of options. Our goal was to create a solution that would simplify this process and help learners make informed decisions about the courses they choose.
What we learned During the hackathon, we learned about the importance of teamwork and collaboration. We also learned about various techniques for web scraping, data analysis, and machine learning, as well as the importance of time management and networking.
How we built our project We began by researching different online education platforms and identifying the data that we wanted to collect. We then used web scraping techniques to gather this data and store it in a database. Next, we used machine learning and deep learning models to analyze the reviews and other data, and generate accurate and unbiased ratings for each course. We also implemented a video text summarization and analysis feature, as well as a course comparison feature to make it easier for learners to compare and choose the best course for their needs.
Challenges we faced One of the challenges we faced was dealing with the large amount of data that we collected. We had to clean and preprocess the data before we could use it for analysis. Another challenge was dealing with the complexity and diversity of the data. We had to find a way to standardize the data so that we could use the same models to analyze reviews from different platforms. Additionally, we faced challenges in terms of the time constraint and had to prioritize the features to implement based on the time available.
Overall, it was a challenging and rewarding experience, and we are proud of what we were able to accomplish. We believe that our solution has the potential to make a significant impact in the field of online education and we are excited to continue developing and improving it in the future.
