Inspiration
When we first enroll the course in York University, we found that it is hard to find the prerequisite of each course and which courses has this course as a pre-requisite. Thus, making a course timetable becomes a difficult and time-wasting thing. So, we decide to make a simple mobile App to make this work easier.
What it does
The program makes students easily accessing the course relationship through their mobile phone. Helping students planning their courses efficiently.
How we built it
Using Android Studio to implement main.xml, MainActivity.java, Course.java, CourseView.java and CourseList.java.
Challenges we ran into
Handling exception; setting the App's background; connecting the java code with Android App.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As future software engineers, my team identify an issue and provide a practical solution in a limited time. We are proud of our work since it can make study life easier.
What we learned
The way to use Android Studio to build an App; The team-working skills and the job allocation in a team; The relationship in MVC module.
What's next for Course Planner
Functionalities of Course Planer can be developed more well-rounded by creating a database that incorporates more course information. We will try to add some new features to enable the app to generate a systemically study plan for users.
