Inspiration
- Having used course Atlas, we wanted to build a better UI/UX for the portal to make registering for courses easier for students ## What it does
- A more polished and smoother version of Course Atlas. It allows users to browse through available courses, add them to their cart, and quickly view their calendar for the semester.
- Shows number of credits the user would be registering for
- Notifies if there are time conflicts present in cart or if credit limit is reached ## How we built it
- Used Perplexity AI Pro and GitHub Copilot to prompt construction of our programs
- Initially separated development into frontend and backend, then joined sections to finish final product ## Challenges we ran into
- No teammates, only two of us
- Configuring environment so that everything can work properly
- Having little knowledge on where to start due to being first-years
- Feelings of guilt for not contributing as much as I'd like ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Created a functioning website!
- Website resembles our original goal
- Stuck through with completing project despite knowledge gaps and inexperience ## What we learned
- The world of programming is large and there is still much for us to learn
- Knowing how to properly use AI when creating programs is essential to saving time and energy ## What's next for Course Atlas Remodel
- Further improving aspects of the AI, such as coloring, fluidity/animation, ease of use
- Expanding the number of courses to include all of what is offered at Emory during the respective semester
- Adding professors as well as their ratings from Rate My Professor for each course
