Counterfeit Hackathon 2022

Inspiration

My inspiration was from figuring that by authenticating that you made the purchase without a doubt rules out the possibility a counterfeit can profit for most of the time

What it does

So how the methodology works is that when implemented, sellers with this kind of verified symbol provided will prove to be much more safer to rest assure the product is you receive is authentic. This is because the product in particular as been background checked and verified that they the seller indeed owns what they said.

How we built it

The order of how the system goes depends on if you are applying a reseller of a product from a company you are not associated with or if you are the company who plans on selling on the seller platform. If you are a reseller no associated once putting the product information and order details for proof the system run a check along the database of the companies/Product-owners who are already registered with the platform (i.e. Seller Domain of the product) to verify and once found it auto verifies the users product. The rest of the cases are further explained in the video.

Challenges we ran into

The two challenges that are faced with this scenario is 1: Those who resell products from a company that do not have a Seller domain with the platform (i.e. Amazon) will not be able to have the verified approval. 2: sellers who do not have this approval will be less discoverable on the search engine.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some accomplishments I am proud of the ability to devise a strategic plan despite coming in on such short notice a loss of a teammate. I am also proud of how feasible the implementation could be with overall an easier way in reduction in counterfeit scams by assisting the consumer to make a informative decision

What we learned

I have learned how to properly address company related concerns from a business and technical perspective to overall develop a concept that benefit company as a whole.

What's next for Counterfeit Hackathon 2022

I hope the next hackathon comes with new challenges to the table like this one. I am excited to see what I can do a full team even more challenging scenarios.
