Count Smart

An application that assists people with dyscalculia, a form of dyslexia. The main goal of this project was to build math literacy and symbolic relations.

Inspiration: To help people who struggle with disabilities that prevent them from learning at pace with their peers.

What it does: Aids with building math literacy skills.

How we built it: Using android studio and java.

Challenges we ran into: Repeating actions and outputting success and re-try statements.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: The integration of our code on android as most of us had little experience on android app development.

What we learned: Android app development and java, problem solving, debugging, tracing.

What's next for Count Smart: Integration of more levels (to account for larger number ranges) and different challenges and voice integration.

I worked on the coding portion of the project, along with brainstorming, planning the user interface and debugging errors that came up during our testing phase.

This project gave me the opportunity to learn Java. Once I learned and became comfortable with the language, I was able to assist my team members in coding the project, and coming up with methods of overcoming obstacles that we faced.
