Cougar Chatbot in Action!
Inspiration
Streamlining access to Clark University information through an AI-powered chatbot to enhance the campus experience for students, faculty, and visitors.
What it does
An intelligent virtual assistant providing personalized information, interactive features like room booking and campus heatmaps, and real-time support through a user-friendly interface.
How we built it
Developed with React/TypeScript frontend, Node.js/Express backend, SQLite database, and Socket.io for real-time communication, with AI capabilities powered by OpenAI.
Challenges we ran into
Managing complex conversational flows, resolving integration conflicts, ensuring reliable socket communication, and balancing AI capabilities with offline functionality.
