Inspiration

Looking at the tracks there is, I wanted to take the integration between Ring and FireTV and went full on in building a picture in picture screen that pops when the ring is pressed when you're watching the tv, but apparently Amazon launched that lately. So thinking on other problems that I have when I binge watch, I went with the most common problem I needed a solution for, an easy scrubber on my phone screen.

What it does

Lets your firetv app on your phone control the playback of whatever is playing on your screen irrespective of the application. If your firetv remote can control it, so can the mobile app. The user can play/pause, scrub through and get AI summarized catch up snippets for latecomers that don't wanna spoil your movie watching experience.

How we built it

I pretty much used the starter code from the react samples provided and some android studio tutorials and left the rest with claude.

Challenges we ran into

The ideation was the tough part, since Amazon launched recently two of my ideas, I was dejected for a couple hours until I came up with another. So not many challenges.

What's next for Couchside

I'm assuming I followed most set of protocols as mentioned on the hackathon requirements list. Hope the project is in accordance and alliance with the set of frameworks to be used. If it did, I'd love to get in touch with any dev team at amazon and try building this as a full blown product with the right sdk and tools.

Product overview and tech stack usages

I've listed all the tech stacks and the aws tool usages in this doc effectively.

Compliance

I've listed all the design choices and how it allies with the requirement listing from the hackathon description here
