Inspiration
Every Halloween, people spend hours crafting costumes with no real way to know if they’re actually good until the party. We wanted to fix that — by creating a fun, AI-powered way to test your costume’s “scare factor” before you show up.
What it does
Costume Clash rates your costume instantly with an AI “Scare Score” across creativity, gore, originality, and execution. You get personalized feedback (Haunt Boosts 💀) and compete on a live global leaderboard for ultimate bragging rights.
How we built it
We used React.js, Tailwind CSS, Framer Motion, and UUID to create an interactive, spooky UI. Data is stored with localStorage, and scores are generated through a custom algorithm simulating AI-based analysis. Everything was designed in Figma and deployed on Vercel.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating Tailwind animations and ensuring smooth transitions between screens took time. We also had to optimize image uploads and scoring logic so the experience felt seamless and fast.
