Talked about problems in cohabiting spaces. One issue that was consistent was the way deliveries are handled during COVID-19 and having to meet the guidelines for things like social distancing and contactless deliveries.
The app simplifies the way instructions are given to delivery drivers. Instead of writing down where your apartment is exactly located or the access code to your community. The app provides a one time code for the delivery driver that can also receive an instructional video of where your apartment is with any necessary information.
We started out by building a prototype in XD with a native Ui kit. From there we began developing the app in android studio to test out how it would work.
Challenges we ran into were not being experts in app development but with the help of two of our teammates, we managed to put together some of the pages necessary to showcase how the app would work.
It was a really great learning experience for all of us. We got to learn a lot about how native apps can be built and share how the design process can lead to a product.
We learned a lot about team dynamics and communicating ideas as well as being open to how those ideas work together.
What's next for CoStar Portal is being able to refine the prototype and possibly testing in order to design different iterations.
