Inspiration

Reading about AI in education and how it can help develop resources for kids to learn and make spreading knowledge easier.

What it does

Provide a fun platform to learn about the universe.

How we built it

We used React for the frontend (JavaScript, HTML, and CSS). We incorporated APIs from weather.gov and from NASA. Additionally, we used ChatGPT to generate quiz questions based on excerpts about different space-related topics.

Challenges we ran into

We had troubles with pushing our project onto Git. It was the first time for all of us using these technologies, so it was a big learning curve that took a lot of time we could have used to make more features that we wanted and sort out any bugs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud that we have a project to submit. Additionally, the UI design is similar to what we had in mind to begin with and the overall concept.

What we learned

We learned how to build a frontend using React and how to work with APIs.

What's next for CosmoScouts

We were hoping to incorporate a AI chat bot to further enhance the learning opportunities by answering open-ended questions the users may have.
