Inspiration
London is a diverse city with people from many backgrounds. Cosmo is an app that supports individuals by helping them find pieces of their home outside of the city they are in now and also connects different people by exposing them to new cultures and cuisines.
What it does
Our app is a social-tracking, product-discovery, and ranking app that identifies authentic ingredients and tells users where to buy them. It does this by sorting stores and restaurants into regions of interest and allows search-based results. Our app also allows users to rank products and stores with an integrated rewards system called Cosmo Points. These points help engagement and redemption of rewards.
How we built it
We built this app by first drafting our idea and drawing out our UX interface. We then utilized Gemini to develop all our code. The code was checked by humans for accuracy and readability. Various Api's were manually added into the code. The coding languages used is Java Script HDML and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were honing in on the workflow of our app and deciding how we wanted the interface to appear and how to make it the most user-friendly. We also had to figure out how to integrate the different API keys (ElevenLabs and Google Maps) into the code and format the UX of the demo.
What's next for Cosmo
Cosmo hopes to expand its platform by adding a calendar tab that can track discounts, events, and holidays. This will hopefully expand the cultural inclusivity and community that it can help build.
