Inspiration

I always come across videos about horoscopes, zodiac signs, and rising signs on social media. I only knew my horoscope before, but many of those videos required knowing your rising sign to get more accurate personality readings and better compatibility explanations.

At the same time, I realized astrology has become a surprisingly good conversation starter when meeting new friends online or in real life. People naturally become curious about each other’s zodiac signs, personalities, and compatibility.

That inspired me to create Cosmic Vibe, a fun and interactive platform where users can instantly discover their cosmic personality, explore compatibility with others, and even chat with an AI cosmos companion.

What it does

Cosmic Vibe allows users to:

  • Enter their birth date and optional birth time to discover their cosmic personality
  • Generate astrology-based personality insights including:
    • Core personality
    • Love style
    • Friend vibe
    • Chinese zodiac
    • Lucky elements
    • Astrological signs
  • View personalized lucky colors, numbers, directions, and best months
  • Chat interactively using the “Chat with Cosmos” feature
  • Check compatibility between two people by comparing birth details
  • Switch between bilingual language support for a wider audience

The website is designed with a calm cosmic-themed interface to create an immersive and enjoyable experience.

How we built it

The idea started from daily life observations and social media trends. I first imagined how the entire system should work from a user perspective before building anything.

Instead of directly coding everything manually, I structured my ideas carefully and described them step-by-step to MeDo AI to help prototype the system. After generating the first version, I continuously tested the platform and identified improvements needed for both functionality and user experience.

The limitation of AI credits have made the prompt optimization became very important. Before sending prompts, I made sure to:

  • Think through the logic clearly in my mind first
  • Break requirements into isolated points
  • Use short and structured instructions
  • Combine multiple improvements into a single optimized prompt

This helped improve AI understanding while maximizing the value of each prompt and reducing unnecessary iterations.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was that AI cannot automatically understand human thoughts or intentions perfectly.

To get the desired results, I had to:

  • Structure requirements very clearly
  • Simplify the expected outcome
  • Make sure the prompt is clear enough to convey my idea

Another challenge was the AI credit limitation. Sometimes the AI would still generate errors even after multiple retries, which consumed credits without producing the expected outcome.

Debugging AI-generated outputs also required patience because even after the AI “apologized” for errors, the issue could still remain unresolved. This taught me the importance of precise communication and iterative refinement when working with AI-assisted development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I successfully transformed a casual real-life idea into a fully working interactive web application.

Some accomplishments include:

  • Building an easy-to-use astrology experience
  • Creating a visually consistent cosmic-themed UI
  • Integrating personality discovery, compatibility checking, and AI chat into one platform
  • Supporting bilingual interaction
  • Successfully using AI-assisted development workflows to rapidly prototype and improve features
  • Turning astrology into a more social and interactive experience rather than just static readings

What we learned

This project taught me that AI is an incredibly powerful helper, but humans still need to provide the direction, creativity, and decision-making.

AI works best when:

  • Goals are clearly defined
  • Requirements are structured properly
  • Problems are broken into smaller understandable parts

I have learned that blindly asking AI to “build everything” is usually inefficient. Instead, the human should remain the mastermind behind the project while AI acts as an accelerator and assistant.

Another important lesson was that when ideas are unclear, it can actually help to first ask AI questions and let it guide the brainstorming process before creating a refined prompt.

What's next for Cosmic Vibe

I plan to expand Cosmic Vibe into a more socially interactive platform. Future ideas include:

  • Making the “Chat with Cosmos” feature support more real-life social scenarios
  • Helping users generate conversation topics when meeting new friends at cafés, events, or online communities
  • Providing personality-based social suggestions depending on the situation
  • Allowing users to share their cosmic results in creative formats such as:
    • Comic-style cards
    • Social-media-friendly templates
    • Trend-style personality posts similar to MBTI sharing culture
  • Improving bilingual accuracy and localization
  • Enhancing astrology calculations for more detailed and personalized insights
  • Expanding compatibility analysis into friendship, teamwork, and networking scenarios

Cosmic Vibe aims to become more than just an astrology website, I want it to become a fun social experience that helps people connect through personality and cosmic curiosity.
