This is an AR makeup app, which is also equipped with a community about makeup sharing. So more people can better try the makeup they want remotely and get inspiration from others.

Inspiration

During the pandemic, people depend on online shopping more than ever in order to avoid contact. We were looking for problems in online shopping, and cosmetics is one of the biggest ones because we are having trouble finding out whether a cosmetic is good for us without trying it on.

What it does

Searching: Search makeups from our database using keys like product names, categories, or brands and pop up detailed information about makeup and a way to save those we love. Community: Building a lovely community full of people who love makeup. With our app, you can share your creative and beautiful makeup easily. No matter who you are, welcome to the CosMe community! AR Makeup: With the camera helping us catch the user’s face, AR Makeup works to create virtual make-ups on their face. Users will be able to try on different types of makeup at the same time and see if the makeup they choose satisfies their demands.

How we built it

We built an application prototype with Figma, a website introduction of our product with Wix, and a coding implementation with Java.

Challenges we ran into

Due to the complexness of our product, we spend a huge effort on creating the prototype. It is the first time we use Wix, so it is hard for us to use it well. We haven't studied AR technology for now, so we need to code an implementation skipping the AR part.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Through hours of hard work without any rest, we managed to complete a successful prototype. We complete a Wix presentation of our product website though it was our first time. We successfully write a coding implementation with clear structures, skipping the AR tech part but it compiles.

What we learned

We can use Figma more skillfully, and we learned to use Wix. We learned to teamwork, with each of us working hard in our best field of specialty. It is also a valuable experience for us as a team in Proseed Hackathon.

What's next for CosMe

In the future, we will continue to further improve our App. For example, adding friend functions, providing affordable alternatives to allow more people to access the makeup they want, pushing products you may like through big data, increasing recognition accuracy with more advanced AR cameras, recommending suitable makeup based on humidity, and so on.
