Inspiration

Cosma was born from a childhood fascination: looking up at the night sky and wondering what lies beyond. I wanted to recreate that sense of awe in the browser — a place where anyone, with a single scroll, could travel from Earth through the Solar System and into deep space.

The idea struck during a moment of stillness. I imagined an interface so intuitive, so serene, that it felt like floating through the cosmos. I didn’t want buttons, menus, or heavy interactions — just scroll, zoom, and tap. Glassmorphism was chosen deliberately to evoke clarity, reflection, and the ethereal beauty of space.

What it does

Cosma is a fully responsive, glassmorphic web app that lets users scroll through the known universe from Earth to the Solar System, galaxies, and beyond. Each celestial object is animated, interactive, and reveals floating glass cards with fascinating facts when clicked.

The interface is layered with parallax starfields, orbit animations, and a day/night mode that shifts the atmosphere of space itself. It feels like a cosmic voyage—without ever leaving your browser.

How we built it

Cosma was built entirely using a single prompt inside Bolt.new. The prompt included instructions for: • Creating a scrollable, zoomable layered view of the universe • Implementing animated celestial bodies and orbits • Generating click-to-reveal glass info cards • Designing with a soft, glassmorphic UI across all layers • Adding day/night mode and ambient effects

Challenges we ran into

• Prompt precision: Balancing visual ambition with prompt clarity to generate exactly what was imagined without overcomplicating the instructions.
• Maintaining responsiveness: Ensuring the UI and animations scaled gracefully across mobile and desktop.
• Creative restraint: Sticking to the One-Shot rules and resisting the urge to manually add extra features after generation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Crafted a visually immersive and educational experience using just one prompt
• Designed an app that feels calming, interactive, and alive, with zero reliance on any external data or APIs
• Fully honored the spirit of the One-Shot competition by letting the prompt do all the work

What we learned

• With the right vision and words, a single prompt can become a fully-formed interactive universe
• Prompt engineering is not just technical, it’s creative storytelling
• Bolt.new is a surprisingly powerful canvas for complex, layered, and artistic applications

What's next for Cosma – A Journey Through the Universe

In future versions, I’d love to: • Add voice-guided cosmic narration • Animate cosmic events like solar flares or black hole warps • Build a companion mode for mindful meditation through space • Allow users to bookmark favorite celestial spots • Extend it into an educational toolkit for students and space enthusiasts

But even now, in this single-prompt version—Cosma is proof that with the right idea, less really is more.
