Inspiration

Schools and colleges around us lack a proper platform where they can manage students and conduct classes online. My mother, being a teacher herself was facing this issue wherein she had to share meeting links (zoom) with her students every time a class was scheduled and take attendance online which was a challenge on its own. India also has one of the slowest internet speeds in the world, so sharing resources as the class was going on was equally important so that the teacher and students can read and discuss through a common discussion forum (chat) in real-time.

What it does

It is an integrated platform where teachers and students register. On the platform, the teacher can schedule and conduct classes and post notices for students & faculties. Students can see their entire timetable and join classes as and when they start.

How I built it

I along with my team built the MVP in 3 days. It includes scheduling and conducting classes and a notice board. We're currently working on adding the other features.

Challenges I ran into

The experience of a classroom is dependent a lot on the interaction between a teacher and a student. This was a challenge that we faced where we wanted to help improve the interaction experience for both the teacher and the students. We're currently working on it.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Identifying key points early on and building the first version of the platform in just 3 days. Sent it out for reviews and got a positive response for everyone who used it.

What I learned

I learnt a lot in terms of how the education industry works and how technology can help in improving the experience even after the lockdown ends.

What's next for Corvo

We plan on adding other essential features that an institute might need once the lockdown ends. The platform can be used to manage multiple schools in remote areas by a single teacher thus enabling more students to study and learn. Education should be a right, not a priviledge.
