Inspiration

Purchasing my first condo revealed significant gaps in the due diligence process. My inexperienced agent assured me it was a great deal, but the due diligence documents told another story: the contingency fund was insufficient, and numerous red flags were buried in the minutes of general assemblies. A tool like Cortex Condo could have identified these issues, providing clarity and enabling a more informed decision.

What it Does

Cortex Condo revolutionizes condo purchasing by ensuring all necessary documents are accounted for before performing an in-depth analysis with expertly designed prompts. While only basic prompts will be displayed at the hackathon to protect intellectual property, they effectively demonstrate the solution's capacity to highlight critical information. The model is able to consume a wide amount of documents, identify the most important part for the anlaysis and output warning / recommendations based on the prompts crafted for each analysis.

How We Built It

Our journey began in a simple playground where we tested the baseline accuracy of our language models. We quickly moved to integrate React templates, enhancing the interface and analysis capabilities. The development process was iterative, involving multiple tests and refinements to ensure reliability and user-friendliness.

Challenges We Ran Into

Early versions struggled with accurately interpreting financial tables from scanned documents. However, advancements in LLM technology, particularly the latest Gemini version, have significantly improved our ability to extract and analyze data reliably. There is still need to build external "tools" to ensure financial accuracy is good and minimal hallucination are present for financial analysis. This shall be done following this hackathon.

Accomplishments We're Proud Of

We are on track to offer Cortex Condo to the public later this year, aligning with our mission to empower first-time buyers with peace of mind during the condo purchasing process. Our solution democratizes access to crucial buying information, potentially transforming the real estate landscape.

What We Learned

This project was a deep dive into various frameworks that enhance LLM capabilities and how to leverage Google Cloud products like Cloud Run and BigQuery to scale our solution. We've refined our prompt engineering techniques to target specific document elements, enhancing the precision of our analyses.
