Inspiration
All of our team members are avid stock market fanatics. When it was revealed that the Goldman Sachs's theme was centered around investing, we knew that it was meant for us.
What it does
Our platform allows you to view how friendly the companies in your portfolio are in relation to the Environment, Social Relationships, and Corporate Governance. Then, it recommends new assets to you based on your current portfolio goals and the ESG goals that you set. Corporate Earth also integrates support through TDAmeritrade to allow you to manually or automatically make trades directly through our platform.
How we built it

Challenges we ran into
The ESG APIs that are currently available are very poor and do not properly handle GET requests from Node.js.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
To get around the lack of Node.js support, we integrated powershell commands into our program to bypass the allowed request format and scrape the data as a full HTTP response as opposed to an encoded buffer.
What we learned
Making a simple application is way harder than it seems.
